eFORMz supports a number of third-party archiving providers, such as the iSeries Integrated File System (IFS)<\/a> and SharePoint<\/a>. eFORMz also has a built-in archiving functionality. This post demonstrates how to use this feature. To follow along, download the following sample: AbsoluteDirectoryArchiving<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Send eFORMz output to an archive (eDIRECT)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To send eFORMz output to an archive, switch to the eDIRECT<\/code> tab from the Project<\/code> window. Right click and select Add Output > Archive<\/code>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Archive Output<\/code> dialog box will display. From the Archive<\/code> drop-down menu, select a provider. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the Project<\/code> window, right click Archive<\/code> and select Add Folder<\/code>. For the folder name, enter a constant value or select a variable. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the Project<\/code> window, right click Folder<\/code> and select Add Content > Generated<\/code>. Select a format and switch to the File<\/code> tab. For the file name, enter a constant value or select a variable. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Configure an archive provider (Director Toolkit\/Configuration)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To add an archive to eFORMz, navigate to the eFORMz Main Menu from the eFORMz Composer and select one of the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Host Tools > Local Director Toolkit<\/code>\u00a0(Windows)
Host Tools > AS400 > Director Toolkit<\/code>\u00a0(iSeries)
Host Tools > Unix > Director Toolkit<\/code>\u00a0(Unix\/Linux)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Archive Property<\/code> dialog box will display. Use the Value<\/code> field to name the content within the archive (the folder name). Select OK<\/code> when complete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NOTE:<\/strong> Configuring the archive with the Director Toolkit or Director Configuration makes the specified archive global, that is, it is usable by multiple projects. An archive configured within the eFORMz Composer is only accessible by the project it has been configured with. This method of configuration should not be used in production environments. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Configuration Details<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

All archive configurations are stored in the Archives.xml<\/code> file. By default, this is located in the\u00a0Minisoft > eFORMz_6<\/code>\u00a0folder. For reference purposes, the\u00a0Name<\/code>\u00a0attribute of the\u00a0Archive<\/code>\u00a0tag changes the name of the archive. The\u00a0Value<\/code>\u00a0attribute of the\u00a0Operand<\/code>\u00a0tag names the content within the archive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
